I would suggest to narrow it down some, to barrel length, fixed stock, folding stock, Russian, Bulgarian.....etc, or there might be too many types of rifles and entries to choose from????

The poll didn't specify what type of 74, so let's do full size, fixed stock 74's. Hopefully, if the AKOTM gains in popularity we will get through all the variants eventually. I'll edit the OP to specify the variant too.

OK -
Bulgarian AK74 kit, NoDak Spud receiver, Ironwood Designs wood, KVAR fire controls. The late Bobby Smith (SALBO Arms) did the build and metal re-finish. (RIP Bobby) I did the wood in a clear finish that showed the grain of the laminate. ETA - it doesn't resemble anything found in nature...

Country of origin: Bulgaria
Builder: ISD Importer: TGI Theme of rifle: I wanted to replicate a 1987 Soviet AK-74. Only NON Bulgarian parts are: FCG and Stock set.... I have a plum Russian set, but the 922 police would get me  if I showed pics of it installed.
This is one of the infamous "best buy" ISD74's (a.k.a. TGI truck guns). While the dimples are going to instantly disqualify me, I still wanted to show it off. I did use gloss engine enamel to replicate the old Izzy paint jobs. I've shot the living snot out of this rifle and it is currently in retirement, but I've got a couple of tins of 5.45 for a fall range trip. I stopped the round count after the 12th tin. All the wear and tear is from numerous outings and complete disregard for babying this rifle. It is still my favorite firearm.

My humble submission:
This is a representation of an "as issued" 1990 Bulgarian AK74. It was built by ORF in 2004 on an Armory USA receiver from an all matching kit from KVAR. Has the correct receiver markings and the receiver was painted to match the kit's original finish. It is fitted with a PK-01V Russian optic, which zero'd perfectly and is a really great optic for the 74. Has original Bulgarian sling and magazine. This gun has had thousands of rounds through it, no malfunctions at all.

I wanted to put one on my 74, but I figured it'd melt off Yeah, I've put hundreds of rounds through the gun with the launcher on it (just too lazy to take it off, even though it is really easy). Mine was made by STAR, a very reputable and expensive airsoft company. It is made out of high-quality aluminum and steel; the only plastic part is the grip. STAR GP-30 has long been discontinued, but there are other options out there now. |

Well since there is so few entries so far i guess i will contribute.
Bulgarian Rifle built to look like an Soviet Afghan War Era rifle. Its Not much but i figured this thread needed more entries to keep it going.

It has a US NDS reciever, US barrel, tapco g2 fcg, so I put a US made follower on it so I could use the original furniture with the bulgarian brown/pink pistol grip. I have a matching circle 10 makarov that is also from 1989. Both guns are unissued and from the final year of the Warsaw pact. |

Finslayer83 and others interested in pics. I am currently bidding on a Izhmash 1988 AK74 kit with a virgin Bulgarian barrel. I'll update the post in a few hours if I won the auction.

Country of Origin: Bulgaria (OOW receiver) Builder: Ohio Rapid Fire Theme: No real theme, just a run of the mill Bulgarian parts kit on an OOW receiver Story: I liked the rifle as built, but I was not impressed with the finish. As delivered it had a parked receiver and top cover, but the rest of the rifle was painted. I finally decided to refinish it. I used the Duracoat HK black and added plum furniture.
