I know the Yugo mag has a last shot bolt hold open but are there any other AK mags that will hold the bolt open with an empty mag?

i believe the yugo was the only one that will do it

If you can find some that have Chinese followers in them you can remove the two bumps at the top of the magazine, inside, and that will allow the follower to come all the way up and do as the Yugo mags do, BHO. Or order some USA AK followers from Falcon Arms for $3.50 each, remove the bumps and ANY AK mag now becomes a BHO magazine.

While you are at it go ahead and notch your selector so you can use the full BHO features the AK has to offer.

That's cool, but is the bolt going to slam back shut as soon as the magazine is removed?

Yes it will slam forward when the magazine is removed. That's why you notch your selector as the third pix shows. It becomes second nature to reach with right thumb and pull the charging handle back while at the same time with right hand fingers you slide the lever up to engage the notch.
