Does it make a difference which country a steel magazine comes from? are some made to higher standards or perhaps better materials (like a  higher grade steel?)

I'm trying to find a good deal on NEW bulgarian steelies....any leads?

two questions:

1) how easy is it to degrease them? Ive never dealt with that goop before so I have no idea.

2) how much? I'd prolly be interested in like 5-6...maybe more if the price is right.

Ditto on that question for me -- if you don't mind.

I do have to say, I have never had a gun like my AK where I was never once worried about buying ANY magazine for it and it not working.

I have never had a bad steal AK magazine.

Some are rougher in finish, but they all work awesome.

Very odd advice but stay away from American made magazines.

Templar,

I'd be interested as well depending on size and price.  Let me know.

Are steel better than the synthetic for the 74s?  I thought the syn. would be better as there isn't a problem with rust

Only steel 5.45mm mags I know of are the Romanian steel ones. The East German Bakelite
and Bulgarian mags are all good and reliable.

ETA:Russia didn't even manufacture a steel 5.45mm magazine. They use both bakelite and synthentic 5.45mm mags.
