Should the receiver be spot welded to the trunions and rivited like the original ?, or willthe rivets be good enough?

Rivets are fine by themselves. I'm not aware of the Yugos spot welding their builds.

The Yugo kit I have was riveted and also spot welded in a few places.  Rivets alone should work out just fine.

same here...some of the kits I've got have been spot welded on the rear trunion area as well as rivetted, but I did my build using rivets alone.
