[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can a "regular" AK stock be fitted to the AMD-65?

I'm getting ready to order parts for an AMD-65 build, but I wanted to know whether you can use "regular" buttstocks with them, instead of the folding version. I want to make a "stainless" look weapon (using Norrell's Moly Resin in stainless and black plastic furniture).

Yes but you will need to purchase an AKM rear trunnion.

I bought the rear stock and trunion from K-var, don't forget the screws.

Hey P806, nice looking rifle ya got there.

Where'd you find that extra length flash hider? That's a lot nicer looking unit than most of the FH's that I've run across.

WOW... I like it a lot...

As for the AMD-65 kits... given they are a standard stamped receiver so any rear trunion would work for a build including the fixed, underfolder, sidefolder, and oters... That is what makes these AKs so much fun!

Richard, it's the standard US short length buttstock that K-var sells, it's a good product too. The PG is a Tapco SAW style and the verticle fore grip is my creation.
