I just received my barking spider and it doesn't have a crush washer or peel washers. Does it require them for installation?

Not unless you want the hole for the pin and weld to be on the bottom.

I just snugged mine up on my ar9 with no washers. I love it. Really helps throw the blast forward. The damn end cap wont stay tight though. I need a strap wrench.
