I'm building my girlfriend an AR, and after trying a few different grips, she really liked how the MOE-K fit her hand, so I bought one and tried to install it.  That's where I ran into a problem.
The grip wouldn't fit on the CMMG lower I have.  The cut in the grip that fits onto the lower seems narrower than the standard A2 grip that came with my LPK.  Curious if it was just a problem with my CMMG lower, I took my DPMS rifle and removed the Magpul MOE grip and tried to fit the MOE-K grip on my DPMS.  Again it didn't fit.

So, do I just not know that the MOE-K grip only fits certain lower, or do I have an issue with the grip I have being out of spec?

It's a tight fit....it will go on eventually you just have to work it.

As previous poster said, the K Grips fit super tightly. Maybe you could try to tap it lightly with a soft rubber smith's mallet from the base of the grip. Sometimes the anodizing on lowers can be a little thicker than normal, and this can cause the issue you are experiencing.  We use Magpul grips, on almost all of our builds, have never found a product made by them that was out of spec....I'm not saying it can't happen, because as I know first hand, in manufacturing - anything can happen! However, Magpul has always been very good at keeping defective products from leaving their facilities.

Okay guys, I'll grab a mallet and give it a go.  Thanks for the help.

You can also use some sandpaper on the inside of the mounting part of the grip.

Just go slow and check often.

Okay, got it on with just a few light blows with a mallet.  Thanks for the help guys!  Now to just struggle to get the bolt threaded.

My K2 was pretty tight on my MEGA lower, but snugged down nicely with a little muscle and then when I tightened the bolt.  Using an Allen wrench instead of a screwdriver helps.

I used a dremel and sandpaper on mine...I think my lower might have been a skosh out of spec, it was a blem anyway.  Wasn't too worried about a $20 plastic part.

Just put one of these MOE-K grips on my carbine this morning, and yes it was a tight fit, but did not need much force to gut it on.

Really an improvement on the TAPCO SAW grip it came with (I have small hands).
