Thanks!

if a barrel is "M4" profile, that means it would be carbine lenght, right?  It does not specify.

It means it has the relief in the barrel to fit a M203 grenade launcher and a reduced profile from the barrel nut to the gas port.  Technically actual M4 barrels are 14.5", but most manufacturers also make 16" M-4 profile barrels for those who don't want to go NFA.

ETA I bought one of the DD Recon barrels from Rainier when they were in stock, 16" Mid-gas with no M4 cuts, chrome lined, 1-7.  Best damn barrel I ever bought.

The DD M4 barrels are carbine length.

Thanks Again!!

If anyone is interested, MidwayUSA has them for $179.99 chrome lined 1:7 5.56 chamber.  Seems like a great price to me!!

Cold hammer forged? Or standard? The can't be CHF for that price.

They are standard. Noticed them on there the other day. The CHF were about $325.

I guess standard?  Cold hammer forged is stronger I assume.  What are the advantages?

Well, I have one of the Midway $179 on one upper and have another on order that is supposed to ship next week. They are great barrels! Even more so for what you can get them for.
I have no experience or great knowledge on the CHF barrels.... but on my budget I'll take these button cut barrels any day!
Now if they would start making a 18" middy in 6.8mm..... I could be a very happy man!

Does anyone know how to tell if a DD barrel is CHF?  Are there any specific markings?

I ordered a DD CHF barrel from PK and all it says on it is "DD 5 56 NATO 1/7 06/09".

Thanks
