A 2 stage trigger only has ONE distinct break. On the 2 stage, as you begin the trigger pull the trigger pull should be smooth, but firm (not hard, say 4 to 5 lbs) then you should come to a "felt" stop (this is provided you are squeezing the trigger gently, not jerking it back). From that felt stop, upon further squeezing, the trigger will "break" and the hammer will fall. The break should be crisp and clean from that "stop" point.
My guess is, you have a crappy standard trigger, that is gritty and need plenty of break in. Hard to tell from here. Double check to make sure the disconnector spring is installed LARGE end down (pressed into the trigger slot), that the hammer spring is installed correctly and the legs are ON TOP of the trigger pin. Lube up all the contact surfaces and make sure it passes function checks. Hope that helps.
