I seem to have acquired a Colt SP1 stripped upper receiver and it appears to be in rather pristine condition. I intend to build a light weight upper on this receiver. The Lower is a Bushmaster, what is the best way to deal with the diff in the front takedown pin? I am basically building a beater would I be tying up a reciever which could be put to better use by one of the Colt Guys?

bushmaster sells a conversion pin.  Not sure how well it works though as I've never tried it myself.

If you are building from scratch.... I cant see messing with those PITA conversions..... I would just selld the upper, then buy the upper you want/need.
