I am looking for ways to lighten up the trigger a bit without breaking my bank account to do so. What are some low cost options to reduce the force needed on the trigger to fire the weapon? Thanks in advance.

Best thing you can do is spend ~$80 on a  RRA NM trigger group.

I installed the trigger spring kit from JP Enterprises, it includes easy instructions on how to polish the engagement surfaces, I am extremely pleased with this kit, it made a tremendous difference in the feel of my ARs trigger. It's available from Brownells, and they have a small item low cost shipping charge that is very reasonable, total about $12 including shipping.
