After much hemming and hawing about what to buy, I ordered a Model 1 20" A2 with stainless 1/8 twist barrel. I hope I did good but only time will tell.Just how long does it take. I called twice and was told my order was in the custom shop (stainless barrel). Last fellow told me they're "running those barrels today or tomorrow" and my order will ship today or tomorrow. Not overly concerned yet but....

you will love it, get some blue box black hills 75 grain ammo for it, break it in with cheap stuff first for savings

Cool!  You're gonna like your Model 1.  Same here and ordered 3 kits 4 days ago.  2 M4's and 1/ 20" standard.  Can't wait to get them.

Have fun on your new build.

I love my Model 1 CAR. Got a 5/16" ragged hole (5-shot group @ 50 yards) last sunday with it. Ordered a 6.8 SPC a couple of weeks ago. Took about 5 days to receive.

Enjoy!

In my experience, they become unresponsive if you ask too many questions or bring up contradictions in what they've told you in the past.  Most reviews I've seen here have been positive, though.  Me, I saved up the extra money and went with LMT for my first upper.  I'm curious to compare LMT v. M1S.

Have they charged your card or already received payment?  If they've charged your card and it's been two weeks, I would be extremely irritated.

Good luck, let us know how you like it once you've put some rounds through it.  Pictures required. :)

*****UPDATE******
Got my package today. I already had most of the lower done except the buffer tube and buttstock. The rest didn't take long, The upper was a very tight fit at the rear lug, had to use some rubber coated pounder persuasion to get it together. It also was a B***H to get back apart. well I worked it open and closed several times and see where it will loosen up a bit. Overall it seems nice. I have 500 rounds of XM193 waiting for the range saturday.

I think it took me a week to get my M4gery from M1S. And wouldn't ya know, I get it on a friday and I just happen to check out thier website and what do they offer 5 days after I order mine? Chrome lined barrels! Called them up asked about swappin a Chromemoly for a Chrome Lined kit. No problem they said, shipped it back, about a week later my Chromelined M4gery showed up. I've put 1200 rounds of wolf 62 gr FMJ through it and its still hungry!! Shootin clay pigeons at 100 yards is fun! And no, not while they're in the air....just sittin back there on the back stop.  her

Update.  Took my new RRA/Model 1 A2 20" to the range today. 140 rounds of XM193, no problems with the gun but had 1 dud. Very accurate. kept 10 rounds in the 9/10 ring area at 100 yds with the battle sights. I believe a smaller apeture or NM sights will shrink this group considerably.  This rifle is monotonously accurate. Shooting the gongs was a no brainer. The 2 sons who came with me 18 and 12 respectively, rang the gong continuously.
