Hello.

I recently acquired a complete bolt and a bare carrier.

If anyone could tell me what other parts I need (1 gas key, hex screws, firing pin, springs and so on...) I would appreciate it.

Also, my bolt doesn't seem to want to go into the carrier.
I got the carrier and bolt from two different sources, so I am worried there might be a tollerence issue.
Are Colt bolts spec with mil carriers? Or vice versa?

Thanks with any help that can be offered

Here's a pic of what i'm talking about.

The red line represents where i'm trying to put the bolt, but it just doesn't fit.

Am I doingf something wrong?

On my bolts (DPMS & Colt) there is a top and a bottom (hole where bolt cam pin goes in)

When you put it in the carrier, try one side up and if it doesn't fit, rotate it 180 degrees and try.

Actualy the way you show it in your diagram is the way it should go in.  The extracter (missing from the bolt in your diagram)should be on the right when looking at it from behind the carrier.  With new gas rings it may be a little tight going in.  Put a drop or 2 of oil on the rings and it should go in with firm push.

You'll need a bolt cam pin, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin, gas key and 2 screws.  Stake or punch the screws at the edge so they won't come loose.

I can't think of any springs you need.
