Was to a show over the weekend and noticed a table with AR uppers marked in 308,223 & 762x39.
The gentleman told me that I could put a 7.62x39 upper on a plain old AR-15 lower with no other changes (except for the mag of course)
Is this correct? Didn't ask about the 308 but what whould be the difference ? Thanks,Bob.

You can do it with 7.62x39, no problem. Mags, barrel and bolt are the only differences, and you can even use regular 20 round mags as long as you don't load more than 8 or so rounds.

.308 is a different story - it's too long for the magwell. That's why they make AR10 rifles.
