Not weapon mounted lights, but one in case the power goes out, or any number of other uses.

Me:
In the house, I keep a Surefire 9N next to the bed and a 6P on top of the gun safe. I also have cheapo flashlights around the kitchen, basement, garage, etc.. I keep a 4D mag light in my work truck both as a light and as a weapon, and a mini-mag in my car.

sure fire, not sure what model number but it takes 2 short fat batteries.

Ah... The ever-popular magbat... Just don't leave your battery cap loose (so you whack someone with it and the batteries launch) - it's not that great of a bat when empty...

I have a UPS hooked-up through a relay to the lamp on my wife's bedside table. The coil on the relay is powered by a walwart and the lamp is connected to the normally on contact to keep the lamp off when the power is on. When the power goes off, the contact moves back to the normally on position, and the lamp turns on. To turn the lamp on normally, I hooked-up a switch to disconnect the 9V from the walwart. I'm a little paranoid about power outages after my furnace burned-out when the power turned on and off repeatedly early one morning. Also, I've read in the paper about three different burglaries that started with the burglars smashing the meter and pulling it out to disconnect the power. The UPS is a junk one from work, so I've only got about 5 minutes of power for the lamp, but that's more than long enough for the purpose.z

I keep a Maglite 3 D cell and a Maglite AA flashlight beside the bed. I like the AA because it can be used as a "candle." I also keep a Coleman lantern handy (in the kitchen).

Parachute flare

and a SF 9an and a M3 on my glock and a scorpian and one of them cheap rechargeables that turns on when the power goes out and a little squeeze light so i can get dressed and punch the code into the alarm without waking the wife.

Next to the .357 mag I have a 6P. Next to the bed I have a four cell "D" battery Maglight, can light up a man at 100 meters, blind at 10, and crack a man's skull at 1 - heard that in some movie. Nice less than lethal alternative to the bayonet.

I've got a 3D cell maglight on each side of the bed, and a rechargable Streamlight Ultra-Stinger on my side. I also keep a Surefire 9Z with a P91 high output bulb with my pants and my pistol next to the bed, and there's 2 ARs secured within 10 seconds of the bed with Surefire lights on them, and a 12ga with a 6v surefire fore-end. And a night vision monocular.

I don't mind the dark, I just like having the option...

Surefire 6Z - also have couple of small backups - MiniMaglite & plastic miniture GI elbow flashlight (like it w/ red filter). Keep Mag/Bat in car(s) & also have on in kitchen - keep several Emergency Plug into the Wall modules that auto recharge & kick in when power goes out.

Mag Lite's everywhere. Two big ones under the bed and a minimum of one stashed in every room. Of course, Gen I night scope for outside fun and gen set in the garage for long time problems. Not paranoid, just alot of power outages. Keep high out put key chains in my cars and two 1.5 million candle powers on the boat. Truck has light bar.............

Sometimes I feel alot like Bert from the Tremours movie. Whoa, Reba by flashlight, that's a thought.....

There's a bright blue Photon LED light on my key ring which is always within reach of the bed when I'm in it. It's so bright it hurts to look into it.

I've also got a cell phone sitting there on the dresser, and with the keypad and display lit (press any button) it provides plenty of light to get up, go to the can, take care of business, and manage NOT to trip over the jet black Australian Shepherd that, oddly enough, likes to sleep DIRECTLY in front of the toilet.

With the keyring or cell phone, I've got enough light to get to any other flashlight that's stowed away in various drawers.

Basic Scorpion - that way if I knock it over by accident the rubber bounces - saves the bulb and doesn't wake the wife.

3-cell Mag somewhere, if the boy didn't "borrow" the batts again.

A few Dorcy 2D plastic cheapos from wal/k/target.

Several LED keychain lights.

Pelican 3C super sabrelight - FD issue, but I had one before. Love 'em, but you can't momentary w/'em.

Pelican 8D dive light w/redundant switch and bulb system - spotlight reflector. Brighter than a mother~~fucker~~humper.

Lit up a car down in the driveway that "honked for service" at 0200 one night right after racking the slide on a 1911 in the window...they didn't realize the "dealership" was closed by new owners.

Never saw so many hands so fast, or had such a respectful tone of voice. They left the way I prefer - quickly, quietly, and not coming back. Ever.

I sleep with an ARC AAA LED light clipped to my undershorts. On the bedside I keep an ARC LS 123. Tek lights, Maglites, Ray-0-vacs, etc. elsewhere in the bedroom closet, as well as a white Photon II on my keychain.

Don't have a Surefire yet, but am considering the Executive E2 for it's brightness.

cmjohnson has the right idea, of using a cell phone as an emergency light.

500,000cp rechargable spotlight, $20 @ WallyWorld and a #5 fire extinguisher.

the M590A1 has a SureFire #623F

when i bought my first 4D MagLite 15+ years ago my buddy just HADDA one-up me, so he got the 6D and while i wouldn't want to get konked with that thing, its a PITA as a GP light... too akward to use under the hood, around the house or whatever
