1pt is fine for HD etc but if you're going to be moving around a lot or navigating obstacles 2pt for sure.
I use a VCAS. |

Straight shooting, 1 point.
For hands on type work (climbing, using both hands, etc), 2 point. |

1-pt is not fun when moving, unless you particularly like pain I've gone to 2-pt on every rifle. I like the Proctor Sling for it's simplicity, lack of needing any additional hardware, price, etc. |

1 Point slings are garbage due to the weapon flopping around, and only advantage is you can use the weapon from either shoulder with ease.
OR Get a VCAS as pointed out and it has the length adjusting strap that allows for either shoulder usage. I use QDs on all mine and can swap from gun to gun although I have 1 for each of my kids and 2 for me, one stays on my SBR. I prefer the padded VCAS slings |

Two point is what you need. Much more practical and functional than 1 pt.
And yes just take 3 pt off your list. |

Get a two point. You can always get a triglide to make it convertible to a one point if you feel the need to.

Two point, personally I like to attach them about as far apart as possible, I feel it lets me crank it down tighter when I need to, and the rear on the outside of the buttstock when shouldered strong hand, which gives a little extra length when shouldered support side. I have a padded VTAC I like pretty well, old MS2 not as fond of it, will someday try a VCAS.
Attaching as near as possible to the front and rear of the receiver allows it to behave more like a single point, but with an option of being less floppy. QDs are great if your stock accepts them and they're integral to many handguards now so no added bulk. I'm pretty fond of the Magpul RSA for rails without QD sockets or not where I want them, but hooks are definitely noisy, Magpul's M-Lok QD socket is a nice minimalist piece too. |

Get the Magpul MS sling of your choice - either straight two point or convertible from two point to one point,.
If you are really worried about possible detachment, get the type with the paraclips with locks. They make some noise, but not much. Otherwise get the type with the QD swivels on each end if your rifle can use them. I have both paraclip and QD swivel models. |

Blue Force Gear VCAS with QD attachments and 2 to 1 tri glide. I prefer the non padded version for its ability to "S Roll."

The only 1pt I ever use is I have 2 ms3 that are 2 to 1 convertable. I have a 3pt and it is so dumb. |

1 point is good for if you aren't going to have to do anything else with your hands, such as use tools or detain someone, and really don't add any function to your shooting equation
2 point adjustable are the current gold standard, the most versatile, and have the most utility of the 3 3points were cool as fuck 15 years ago when M16A2's with no rails were the standard. |
