I have been wanting to run a single point sling on my .gov issued rifle. The only probem is how i mount it to the rifle. Uncle Sam says i no one can remove the buffer tube nut to put in an ambi mount plate. Others in my unit mount to the m4 shoulder stock but I always find this hangs the rifle too low and damn near touching the ground while standing. I have an Ms2 which i loved to use in my civillian shooting but i cant use it without a tube mounted adaptor.

So, who makes one. Something like the SLAP or the ASAP would be perfect if it were tube mount.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Has anyone tried the Z-360 swivel mount from Tactical Link?

I could use this if I could find a swivel that the Ms2 would easily integrate with.

midway makes one that slides over the tube, but you pull off just he adjustable stock (not the tube).  i have the one with the 2 eyelets (which my sling attaches with a mash-hook), but they also have one thats just the sling loop too.  mine has not had one bit of movement since i bolted it on.

Check out these gear sector slings.  I run one on my rifle and it's nice.  I wasn't interested in some of the features of the MS2

I'm the same way. I want a single point mount but I can't do any mods to the weapon (remove the tube/nut, etc..)

I would highly suggest the Tangodown PR4. Pat Rogers of EAG has them on almost all of their loner rifles and they get abused. He seems to think highly of them.

I am thinking about doing the same with my 6.8 AR-15. I have the MS2 with the ASAP on my .223 carbine and seems to be fine to work with. The biggest advantage is the ability to switch from strong side to weak side in a matter of seconds and with the sling you can switch to a 2-point configuration. Anyway, back to the original question. I have heard stories about the Tango PR4 mashing down on the threads. Does anybody know if this is true? If not; then the Tango would be the way to go without removing the buffer tube.

EDIT: I guess if Pat Rogers has them then they must be good!

I think this is something like what you need.  Bolts right on, no dis assembly required

I'm all for arfcommer made as I also just bought a SLAP, but the OP says he can't modify his military issued weapon so he can't use an aftermarket receiver end plate.

Yep! This looks like a great product and a great idea, but i need a solution that does not require the removal of the buffer tube nut. Bolt on, tube mount is the only option for the Corps.

You could use a GGGAZ Agency Sling Attachment with your MS2.
