I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the Yankee Hill Machine Two Piece 4 Rail Forearms. They simply replace the handguards on the rifle and have rails. I would imagine they wouldn't be stable enough for a cool guy handle underneath, but I just want to mount a surefire. Also I don't know what covers to put over the exposed rails.
Any input is welcome and appreciated.

That's good to hear Gloftoe, I'm guessing that you've had a good experience with them;considering that you have them on two rifles. What's the best place to buy these things? I'm shopping around for prices right now and most places have them at around $145.00. Is that a good deal, or is there a better bargain to be had somewhere?

It's solid enough for anything but sighting optics. I have a VFG and a surefire on mine.

ETA: Bravo Company has them for $110.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I think I bought a YHM flip up iron sight from Bravo Company now that I think about it. They were good people. I'll be giving them a call.

They're plenty solid for a VFG.  I have a set on a rifle, as well as a carbine.  The VFG is very stable.

As far as which rail covers, any standard rail cover would work.

+1

I got mine from Bright Flashlights and have been very happy with them for VFG's and lights

I got mine from Bravo Co. and I like them a lot. The guys over there at Bravo Co. are good people to deal with too.

I've got a set with a TangoDown verticle grip and a Surefire mounted. Good stuff.

Be sure to check out the rails made by Midwest Industries.  Lots of good things being said about them.

YHM is probably the intersection of quality and value in the non FF rail world.  Midway USA has a round no-name vfg for less $12.00. It is more than solid. (see the reviews on the Midway sight) Add a viking mount for 20.00 a decent light  set up for 50-80 , the YHM rails for 110 and you got a low light  fighting front end for less than 250.00 complete, with the ability to mount on four rails all day long.

I've got them on my carbine with surefire and VFG.  I got mine for $100 and was very impressed with the stability.  Only good luck so far with Yankee Hill products.  Go for it.

I picked up the Full length set for my AR.  Have a Bushnell holosight set for cowitness with the iron sights and a light.  The forend fits pretty tight and seems to hold well enough to have pretty good off hand groups out to 100 yds using the red dot.  The on the Holosight stays put superimposed on the front sight.

I got mine through Bravo Company. with no trouble, and good turn around time.

I bridged mine with the YHM-9595 rail riser attaching it to the upper and forearm. It made it rock solid to mount my optics on
