For all you guys who said Aimpoint wouldn't make a CompM5s due to design contraints....

Will still stick with the T2, but the M5s looks very nice compared to the M5.  Get ready for an EE flood of M5 versions

I preferred the M4 and I'll stick with the M5.

I'm pretty sure it was Aimpoint themselves that said moving the battery compartment to that location would interfere with the mounts.

Very nice!  M4s always 'looked' better to me than the M4.  Now an M5s...

What's the difference from the M4S?

Smaller and takes a AAA battery.  Also uses Aimpoint micro-series mounts.  Just put one on my MP5 and very happy with it.  I like the smaller optics but despise coin-cell batteries that like to leak and aren’t as common as the AAA (or AA in my M4).

I'll likely snag one. Love my M4S and Really disliked the T1.

So you liked the rheostat mechanism, no coin battery, and the 20mm window

I always preferred the 1:00 battery mount.  On the Comp M4 it was bulky, but the little M5 is ok with it.

I guess everyone is going to have to tool up to make new mounts for these.

It will be interesting.  Groups like Larue have a mount that go with all micros right now.  The S version, though looking very nice, will reduce margins a little thus driving a potential higher price

I look forward to discounted T2’s in EE...

Also, this is how the M5 should have been in the first place...

You already get them at $625 lightly used with mount.  Probably not going a whole lot lower...we'll see

Yup. As a lefty, the high-left battery compartment on the M4 felt like a distraction. I liked the idea of the M5, but was waiting on an S version,

I've read that the cracking points on 7075 are forces that will bend 6061 but not crack.

To objectively say 7075 is better may be more scenario based.  I'd say the front objective lens addition is more of a hardening feature than the material.

@LaRue_Tactical

Any plans in the works for a compatible mount?
