I'm new to the site and this is my first post so here it goes.

I recently just bought my first AR, it's a Spikes Tactical Lower Enhanced Punisher, and a Yankee Hill Upper.

Anyways I'm looking for an optics that is mainly going to be used for hog hunting and ranching.
Most of the shots I will be taking will be between 10 to 300 yards away.

I want to get a scope that will still give my AR a tactical look but can be used for hunting.
Eventually down the road I plan on hopefully getting my hands on a Trijicon ACOG but for now that's out of the question.

My price range of right now is around $450

Also would like it to be some sort of smaller scope or red dot with magnifier or something.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

If a scope is what you're looking for, I'd try the Nikon M223 series.  I have the M223 3-12x42 with the m223 mount.  Should be able to get both for under $500 if you shop around.  Think I got mine on Amazon.  The BDC is great and will easily get you to 300 yards...or 600 if you like.  I've been extremely happy with mine.

I think it looks 'tactical' enough.

Also looking for something like a red dot might I add, but I do like that scope!

I'd seriously consider the Primary Arms 1-4x24 scope. I have the Bushnell Trophy XLT 1-4x24 on my BCM Recce and love it.

Yeah, Aimpoint Pro.  No magnification but it'd get you minute of bad guy at 300 yards.

So far I've been looking at

Bushnell MP Red Dot Sight 30mm Tube 2x 32mm 3 MOA Red and Green T Dot Reticle with Integral Weaver-Style Base Matte

What aimpoint would get the job done?

sounds like a 1-4 scope like the Leupold 1.5-4x20 Mark AR should fit your needs

I went with the Weaver Super Slam 1.5-6x24 on my 6.5 Grendel because I needed/wanted more than 4x on the top end.  Love the scope, very nice glass and turrets.

My Grendel's primary usage is hunting and informal target shooting out to 600 yards.  Scope performs well for me in that role.

$390 at Natchez and with Weaver's current rebate of $50 on Super Slams, my final cost was $340.

Primary Arms Compact 3x or Burris 332 or Burris 536.  They are the poor man's acog.

I have the Burris MTAC 1-4 on my 16 inch midlength.

It's on Black Friday sale pricing right now at Cope's - $299.00 plus free shipping.  Normally, they run about $400.00.

Thanks!
It's my first AR.  Started with a Colt HBAR and have been making it my own over the past two years.  It's a slow expensive process but I love it.
