What's it cost to have the tritium replaced in an ACOG?

I've heard everything from $100-$500.

How often on average would this occur?

half life of the tritium is 12 years. which means in 12 years it is half as bright as origional. in another 12 years it is half as bright as that....and so on

In ten years sell the ACOG for $500 and with the other $500 (tritium replacement cost), buy a new one.

I honestly doubt that 95% of the people who own ACOGS have ever shot them at night, military folks excluded. If you have a need to be shooting in darkness, get yourself some NV gear and do it right.

As for reasonable resale value, yes $500 for a well maintained unit would be spot on and not last long on EE. And of course there is all ways ebay........

I think I sold a TA01NSN for about 650, was probably 6 years old or so when I sold it...

this was several years back though...

so, yes, they have a fairly strong resale.

I think that they're too bright when used with NV anyway.

I don't know what the're charging to replace the tritium, but they just e-mailed me back, (after about a 3-week wait ), to tell me that changing a rectical
costs $548.00. I want to upgrade from the TA31F dual lit chevron to the duel lit crosshair. Still thinking about it, that's alot of money, but then there's alot of seals to replace and whatever. No word on turn-around time though.
