Assuming I have a 16" barrel and 2-3 MOA of accuracy to begin with, do I need a scope to use the rifle's effective range, or will a 1x "faster" optic be fine?

Thanks.

Eotech or Aimpoint, I have both. Keep an eye on the EE and their are some deals on Aimpoint M2's with mount's for + or -$350.00 or so new. some times less.

Thanks for the advice.  I'm gonna stick with irons a bit and save up for the EOTech.
