Anyone have any experience with the Tasco Red-Dot scopes?  I know they are less expensive, but do they hold zero fairly well.  I found them for a good price.

I don't need anything rated for CQB.  I just want something for plinking and maybe some varmit hunting.

I've got an older 33mm bodied Tasco that has held zero on a G3 clone for a couple of thousand rounds.  MHO is that they are worth it.

I have a BKRD42 that I've used and abused quite a bit, and has held up very well. It's been on my AR, AK and my shotgun. For your intended use, I think it'd work just fine.

On a similar note, is Target Sports really made by Tasco, or is that a joke?  If TS = Tasco, are those products on par with each other?

I've had a Tasco PDP-3 for about 10 years now and it is still working fine.  It's no Aimpoint but it works.

The PDP series is pretty good, I suspect that the "reddot" model is no better than your average BSA or other generic chinese red dot sight.
