All the BUIS I see have side to side adjustments but it doesn't look like they have a height adjustment?  How does that work?  The A2 needs it so why wouldn't your rear site need it on a flat top?

i depends on what you mean by a BUIS.
my BUIS is an A2 detach handle i chopped the handle part off of.  so i have a full AR rear sight.
most flip up BUIS have no elevation ADJ.  so you have to Adj elevation in the front sight.
ie  get it close and let fly.

The M16/AR15 existed for over 2 decades without the A2 style rear sight, so what makes you think that a height adjustment is required on a BUIS?

Offof the top of my head I can only think of one that does, the KAC 600m.

Adjusting elevaltion on the front site by unscrewing the center site piece?

Are flip UP BUIS as acruate as your standard A2 site?

They can’t be Zeroed as minutely.  But once you get them as close as you can they are just as precise.  In most cases the optic is the same as the A2.

That's how it's done when zeroing the sights.  The elevation adjustment on the rear is for all those times that you're taking a 500 or 600 yard shot and you don't want to guess the holdover.

The LMT BUIS has elevation adjustments identical to the regular rear sight.
