Has anybody tried the GG&G GS-1 FIRE system rail?  I'm try to get my scope mounted further forward to get a more comfortable shooting position.  Has anybody tried these out on the AR's and do they compare well with the ARMS Swan Sleeves?

I have purchased both a GG&G scout rail and an AMRS 36 S-EX for this exact purpose and I think the Scout rail is going to win. Now the reason why is I plan on using a BUIS and the Scout rail is already cut to accept one. And while shorter in length than the 36 it is plenty long enough to get my Leupold M-1 long range far enough forward that I can get a decent position on the A-1 length stock. So that is my take on them.

I use a GS-1 rail on a ground hog rifle that I have a long Leupold on. It works great.

I'd go for the #36 ex, you know the dovetail rails will be dimentionally dead on for the type of accuracy you will want with high mag optic shooting. That is it's only purpose and not cut away for some iron to go in behind it so it looks better too.
Good shootin, Jack

The GS-1 rail is not cut out in the back for iron sights. The rail dimensions were right on. I ordered one with 20 moa. built into it. So I am not taking alot of adjustment out of my scope's elevation for longer distance.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I ended up with the GS-1 rail.  I still have yet to mount my optics, but the rail felt very solid on the rifle.  I went with the GS-1 over the scout because of the additional extension and also because I can't imagine ever needing backup iron sights on a varmint type rifle.
