Can someone tell me anything about this backup iron site (who makes it, good/bad, etc..)?





The pictures are from the Army’s FM 3-22.9 Rifle Marksmanship M16A1, M16A2/3, M16A4 and M4 Carbine.

That's not the one that is in the system. The Army adopted the KAC 300m BUIS. Some units have locally purchased other sights, but not the one in the FM. Maybe it was a prototype of some sort and the picture made its way into the FM erroneously.

Several points I can't remember, but snagging is one problem, small peep, BUIS is a combat ight, the small peep is for long distance shooting and the sight did not stay up very well.
