Bushmaster Varminter
Leupold PRW Rings
Weaver V-24

All are new.

Went to the range to sight in and almost ran out of windage (4 clicks until maxed out).  The rings were lapped before the scope was mounted.  Any ideas?? Is it prob the rings? scope?  It is usable as it is, but I've got a PD hunt in 5 days so I'm trying to figure this out asap.  Would it help if I switch the rings from the  front to the back and visa versa or will this just push the scope in the opposite direction?? Ive heard of shims and such but dont want to go there yet.

All comments appreciated.

Get a 1" piece of aluminum tubing from home depot - get a long one, like 4 feet - mount that in the rings and see if it lines up with the barrel.  That will confirm or elimnate the upper/rings as being the problem.

If the tubing is crooked, then it's either the rings or the upper machining.  Switch the rings and see if the problem changes.

If the tubing is straight, it's the scope.  Defective.
