I was on AIM Surplus website to pick up some extra 7.62x39 magazines and instead of seeing C-Products, they have the same selection of magazines from "DuraMag"

Anybody know the story with them / these mags?

Buy 20.  You may end up with 5 that work for a while.

I found that C-Products were the best running 7.62x39 mag over several guns.

you have a different maker in mind perhaps?

Thank You for the information TigWelder1971!

I thought they were one and the same, but was not sure about the different name.

I have some frankenmags sold by DPMS from back in the day.  If you have a time machine, go back and buy some of those.

I have been through many iterations of CP mags since their first release.  I finally had about 10 that ran, but they started to fail.  I sold all of my remaining mags and I am done with them.

Their 5.56 mags were also garbage.

FWIW,  I hear the X39 mags run good (no personal experience).
As for the 5.56/.223, my sample size of ~12 was a shit show. When the dust settled I ended up with 5 SS that run reliably enough for range mags. That's all I'll ever use them for. And not buy another.

I have seven 30rd CPD mags for 7.62x39 and I've never had a problem.  The three ASC mags are terrible.  They might work okay if you only load 10-15 rounds, after that, they tilt horribly.

Another happy camper for the 762x39 mags.... 10 rounder is fantastic but I'll need to plug it to 5 come hunting season, and 3 30s have been flawless.  Have 3 more in wrapper still and two on the way.

No problems for me either in hundreds of rounds of 7.62x39 through CPD mags.

E-Lander. The best. Then D&H.  C products work about 90%.  ASC suck.  I ordered 2 from Bushmaster, these mags work great.  My experience. All 10 rounders.

Update - was paid $2 to get a 5 rounder ($12 mag, $14 shipping, the mag put me to pennies over the min for free shipping), put 50 rounds through it today no issues.   I know, anecdote!=data ...

That is a 100% success rate!

Thank You for detailing the results of your extensive scientific research & observations upon this matter.

CPD is the best x39 mag. Light years better than ASC.

The last iteration of C-Products 7.62x49 Mags were quite good.  I have 10 of the 20 round mags and a few 10s & 30s.

All of them have fun flawlessly, Both Steel case and hand loaded brass cases.

If the DuraMags are just the same C-Product design rebranded, then that’s probably the best 7.62x39 AR mag you can buy currently.

I had poor experiences with ASC mags, and gave them away.

My experince with 5.56 ASC mags mean i wont be buying any of their x39 mags.  My whole x39 AR mag pile is 20 round c products mags.  Havent any any issues yet.
