  We started to wear out the Gen 2 follower mold, so we took the opportunity to do some minor updates to the design. Gen 3 followers will be an inline change and will replace all Gen 2 followers shipping from now on. Gen 2 followers are still good to use. Building a new mold also allowed us to use a new material that we really like. It is much more slippery than the Gen 2 material and is used as the follower material in guns like the FNP90. The material costs the same as the old material but mold substantially quicker and cleaner. This means lower cost to manufacture. As a result the price for Magpul Followers will drop from $6.95 to $5.95 per 3pack. New colors will be Foliage Green (subdued) and a Golden Yellow (bright). |

Gotta love Magpul products.......and how many manufacturers can say they improved on an old design and managed to cut the prices?? Way to go Magpul!!

The only issue I ever had with Gen 1 followers was a few fail to hold bolt open issues. You just saved some dough not buying the Gen 2 ones, and can move straight to the Gen 3 ones if you want. I've had no issue with the Gen 2 ones, but did exacto knife each one to smooth out flashing before installing them. |

Yes. I have a bunch of gen 1 and 2, they ALL work perfectly. Magpul- Are companies like C-products going to be getting these for their magazines or are they sticking with the old design? Even though my followers work fine, this is just a good excuse to order 20 so or more magazines, just want to know when to expect them to be standard in c-products mags. |
