A friend of mine has some 30 round Colts.  On the right side they have a 5 digit number.  They also have a 5 digit on the top of the mag follower, right next to where the "molded case" is.

On the base plate it has:
the Colt logo next to COLT AR-15
CAL 5.56MM
COLT'S FIREARMS DIVISION
COLT INDUSTRIES
HARTFORD, CONN, U.S.A.

They look sturdy as heck.  The finish is about 70%, but other than that they are GREAT looking mags!

Yep, those are the same mags my buddy has, except that the base plates are a little different.

Why are these mags not as reliable?  Should he replace the springs and the follower?

Thanks for the info, Troy.

BTW, what could one get for these mags?

What?  Mags set aside for a collection?  Who would do such a thing?  I'd just replace the follower and spring in order to have MORE mags!

BTW, how much would these go for?
