Caution on the Cabela's Sale of Wolf .223. - although the NET price has been reduced $10/1000 to $99.99, they have introduced an $18.00 surcharge "Due to the size and/or weight of this item."

This surcharge is in addition to the standard shipping charge.

Cabela's normally has a $6.00 surcharge for size/weight, so by reducing the price $10.00 and increasing the surcharge $12.00 you are actually being charged $2.00 more per order.

Centerfire Systems is having a sale on Wolf .223 55gr and 62 gr until 2/11/05 for $109.99 delivered, 7.62x39 FMJ - $99.97 delivered.  According to their Customer Service Rep all of their WOLF ammo is polymer coated except the 9mm.  More info at the WOLF vendors at the Ammo Price List.

+1 on the surcharge, was going to use my $30 rebate on this and was informed that shipping + surcharge was going to total $28,  the better deal is in their current catalog of 1000/$109 + two dry boxes, so minus the $30 rebate will be $89 + $6 S&H. for a total of $95/1000

Mine came to $126 and change.   With the $30 rebate it comes to about $97 a case and that is with 4 nice 50 cal. ammo cans.   If mine gets here today I will use the new $30 off coupon to order another case.

i dont think its brass. its like cheap steel case. best way to buy it is go to the nearest gun show and get the ammo. they sell for like $80-$90 for 1000 rnds plus $5 admission fee.
