US Military ammo can no longer be surplussed (thank Klinton), so Talon buys it, disassembles it, replaces the primer (one component must be destroyed/returned), and reassembles the ammo.  Generally, it's great range ammo and good for reloading, but it wouldn't be the best choice for duty/defensive ammo (for that, you should ALWAYS use new factory ammo whenever possible).

Cheaper Than Dirt and Sportsman's Guide have sold a lot of Talon ammo, and Ammoman has also sold a bunch (mostly in .308, .30-06, and .50BMG).  The 5.56 isn't sold as much because it costs only a bit less than new-production ammo such as Q3131A or XM193.
