I've never understood the fascination with a .22 magnum. The rounds are nearly as much as 5.56 with less ballistic value.

I really like the concept and design. However, i too find the cost of WMR to be hard to swallow. I guess, once you've learned the weapon it wouldn't be to expensive to use as a HD gun with occasional training.

.22wmr =/= 5.56 or even 9mm

I don't see the utility of the rmr30 besides a fun toy.

My SWR Spectre is not rated to shoot 5.56

I don't believe that is what my question addressed.

Anecdotally, a .22 magnum will kill a deer DRT. Comparative ballistics aside, a few WMRs would be plenty effective against most 2 legged threats.

For me.....I just really like the looks and idea of the little carbine.....it just so happens that it is chambered for the .22 magnum.

well dave if you go next door to illinois , alot of the state fish and wildlife area's wont allow any rifle other than rim fire so a 22 mag or 17 hmr are viable options for coyotes and ground hogs out to around 150 yds.  hope this helps.

The reason I want one is because it is probably as close as I'll ever get to owning my suppressed and SBR'd HK MP7 in .22lr that I have been lusting for, but nobody will make.

That makes since.
I try real hard not to venture into Ill. Too much like CA when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.
