I looked up a few prices today and didn't see any price drop. Shouldn't everyone offer 3 lowers for a $100 by now? :-)

I see both PSA and Anderson lowers are actually the same price as before the election. :-(

Anderson lowers have been on sale for $30 several times in the past couple months.  Aero Precision lowers are <$50 a handful of places.  PSA lowers were $50 last time I looked at them.

I don't know about powers, but LOWERS have certainly gotten cheaper. Andersons for $29.99 twice in the last month or two (picked up 3 for $99.50 including shipping), Aero's for $48.99 right now, Spikes could be had for $65 a few weeks back.... PSA lowers have ALWAYS been about $49.99-$59.99 (they really didn't gouge people like others did)... the other brands are still holding out for some reason, but there is good deals to be had.

I started building in 2011, and the drop in lower prices is considerable.  For a long time it was like all the manufacturers had a price fixing agreement to not go below $85-$95, and you paid even more for a well established or mainstream maker's roll marks.

I find it amusing that I can find complete lowers cheaper than most 80% lowers.

depends on the FFL dealer. some do a fee for each item in an order, and others do it for the whole order (meaning if you ordered 3 lowers they charge you the same fee if you ordered 1, 2 or 3).... my FFL dealer does $15 for the first item and then $5 for each additional item in an order....

There's a couple of shops in my area that charge $40 the initial transfer. Seems silly paying the same or more for the transfer than the lower itself.

just not comfortable with the lower corrosion resistance + the lower strength when 7075 is so readily available for as cheap or cheaper

supposedly it was because 7075 handled corrosion better when they were slogging through the swamps of Nam... so they switched over to 7075

I built an Anderson and while it worked I wasn't impressed. Next time I'll probably pay more for a milspec lower. The Andersons have a weird pistol grip thread and I had to cut my selector spring because it was way too tight. Yea, not a big deal, but it is annoying.

Man all my favorite LGS are still hiking prices on stripped lowers. Spikes are about $100 before tax ect, paid $150 for one a little over a year ago. In November ish I paid  $130 for a Kinetic, wanted to get one just in case Clinton got elected.

Prices of lowers in gun shops depend on how many and how often they sell.  Shops that sell lowers (and other items) as soon as they come in can sell then at lower margins than those who have stock sitting on shelves for long periods of time.

Also, consider some manufacturers advertise a higher msrp to help dealers make some profit on their items.

I've purchased Aero lowers locally for $55-$60, which is ok with me.  Transfer and background fees would put most online purchases higher than that for even an Anderson.

Are you wanting a good quality lower for that price?....if so, good luck.
PSA and Anderson both offer inferior products that are not properly spec'd. That has been proven over and over again, at least 1,000 times.  It's actually mind blowing, the amount of people here that praise their horrible quality because they can be had dirt cheap. You either want quality or you don't, there's no in between.

Why would anybody settle for the terrible quality offered by PSA/Anderson when quality manufacturers such as Noveske, BCM, Mega, Aero all offer correctly spec'd lowers for $150 or less? Another company offering good lowers is Spike's Tactical for around $100. Aero Precision lowers can be purchased for $80-$90, Mega Arms, around $80. Settling for Anderson and PSA junk just doesn't make sense.

Aero has been my go to for most of my builds. A company had the Aero gen2 on sale for 37.99 a piece a few months ago, I ordered 2. But I did snag a Anderson closed ear lower for 4th of July 29.99 primary arms deal and it is finished very well. I built a budget truck gun out if it. I snagged another the other day for another budget build. 29.99 for a decent lower is tough to beat. Mega are nice but side by side it is no different then the Aero except for some little scallops.

If everything goes together and fits and works properly, I can see how someone would be reluctant to spend 2-5 times the cost of their cheap lower that works.  Again, this dependent on whether the builder doesn't experience any issues during the assembly and function testing that is related to the manufacturing of their lower.

bovine scat. psa lowers have been made by Aero for years, and recently LW Schneider... both good solid companies, and out of all the Anderson lowers I've had not ONE function differently than Aero and Spikes (almost made by Aero) or Mega Arms... seriously, if the parts fit in then there's no issue, it's not hard to make a good lower. unless it's wildly out of spec, then a lower is a lower is a lower. If we want to nitpick finish and say that a BCM lower gives your gun magical property I think we're looking for THAT other site.... unless by out of spec you mean "Anderson doesn't tap the pistol grip threads all the way" as out of spec. a phenomenon that even Aero has done sometimes.

sure, Anderson had a couple problems here and there, but they sell the VAST majority of lowers to builders, easily at least 5-1 at my local gun shops, and VERY few have problems.

Say what you will about PSA's quality-control problems, the one thing I've never found lacking was the overall quality of their stripped-lowers.

Over the years, between family, friends and co-workers, I've seen dozen's of PSA stripped-lowers assembled into perfect, functional rifles.  Every single magazine-well is in-spec, trigger-pocket, receiver-extension ect.  PSA sells an excellent forged Lower, period.

Guess you never heard about the batch Aero had with out of spec magwells??? If not, I can show ya one!

PSA and Andersons are fine and I don't see any issue with those wanting to build a budget rifle using one. If you feel like you just need to piss extra money away on a name, then by all means do so but don't feel the need to knock every one else who wants to use PSA/Anderson.

TO THE OP: As for the sales on lowers...as it's been mentioned a few times already, Anderson open and closed ears have been on sale numerous times in the past month or 2. Just keep an eye open!

Don't spread your ignorance here. All lowers are made from a handful of companies doing forgeries then machined by a handful of companies making lowers for more than one brand/rollmark.

Of the thousands of Anderson/PSA lowers that have been built by folks on this forum if there were some issue it would be known.
Personally I have built the big names and Anderson/PSA, I have seen no functional difference.

I have Andersons, and some are nicer than some Spikes.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

You can't say that they haven't had well documented issues, even on this site.  It has been documented.

Anderson took care of it, but it happened.

Just because they all start at the same places doesn't mean they all rolled down the same QC line on the way to the customer.

Go to the (3) websites mentioned "Areo Precision" "Palmetto State Armry" "Anderson Arms" and subscribe to their mailing list.
These manufacturing company's are leading the market with AR lowers that are low priced but not cheaper in quality.
Pick the one that you like the best as they are all quality and at bottom of the market prices today, cannot get much lower price.
