Hello everyone I was needing some help. I want to build an ar it will mainly be used for target practice and maybe some hunting. I don't know a hole lot about AR's and when it comes to building one there's thousands of parts to choose. Could you help me out on some good brands and maybe a parts. Iam looking to spend around 1,000 to 1,500. Thank you

Are you sure you want to build, knowing next to nothing about the platform, based off some advice from a few posts on the interwebs?

The best advice I can offer is to do ALOT of research, and draw your own conclusions. May even want to start off with a complete rifle, or an assembled upper and lower that just need to be pinned together to complete the rifle.

Your best option will be to buy a complete upper and just build the lower.

For the upper I'd recommend Colt, PSA premium, BCM, or DD.

For the lower, just snag an Anderson or PSA stripped A2 lower for 40-50 bucks, and at that point all you need is an LPK and buffer tube kit

Which you can also get from PSA or BCM.

Hey thanks. Ya I didn't really want to mess with building an upper or maybe evan a lower. I was looking at psa uppers any ideas on barrel twist I was thinking 1:8. If I despise to build my lower do you have any recommendations for parts like trigger buffer tube stripped lower

Buy all basic parts, learn to shoot it, clean it, and maintain it, and then determine/decide if any upgrades are required.
