Keep checking the EE for an original. I'm not sure about Brownells. The retro barrels were supposed to be in Stock in July and they were over dew then. I emailed them a few days ago and now they said they have no idea when they will be in. I'm guessing it's going to be a while for the retro stuff.

Originals are available. The run about $200 to $225 + or - with rear sights, port door and forward assist included. Check Gunbroker and search "retro upper"

I won't have a problem going from the colt large pin to a non?

The upper should be a small pin too. Only sp1 uppers were large pin. Also, the sp1 is a slickside upper. The xm177e2 has a forward assist.

If you get large hole Colt uppers like I did on my 602 and Sp1 Carbine clone, the offset bushing costs about $4. I lined them up and super-glued them into place.
