I included some pics. of an upper I bought last fall from a member on the EE (he had a whole bunch at the time). I had bought two of these and gave one to my dad to build a rifle with and it was in about equal condition to the one pictured. The best part was I paid $205 each, shipped to my front door. I hope another gob of these come on the market again. It was a great way to make a nice serviceable rifle for not alot of cash.

 12 marking.  Roll pinned swivel and smooth front sight base with no front sight drain hole.   |

Yes, last year was good. I had 50 A1 uppers I sold on the EE for $175 - $275, with most of them going for $195 shipped. I wish I had them now...

I hope you're right.
I remember when not many people new about the CMP or the Garands they sold too. But hey, if more people are becoming interested in shooting and collecting, the more people to support our 2nd Amendment rights. |

I agree, the more people shooting and building this type of rifle (or any firearm for that matter) the better. Strength in numbers......

i can remember buying them complete for $150 each. i am now paying $120 for a stripped upper.

Wish I had some more like this, also.
 It's one of the CDNN uppers, It came with a like new A1 butt stock assembly.

I've been counting my blessings. Got a NOS Colt A1 upper four years ago; prolly paid too much for it, but it was as new, with a Colt BCG, tho' the charging handle was likely newer. It had a decent A1 trapdoor stock and buffer tube with no wrench flats.
Now it seems the supply has dried up, and I'm just happy to have it. Oh, yeah, the NDS lowers came out just when I was ready to give up and throw the A1 on a Bushie lower. Wish my timing was always that good... Moon |

angus6 - what do you think the odds are of seeing more uppers like this? I mean, these were made by the millions, and there are lots of countries still updating thier weapons/armories. I'm guessing there are still more of them out there somewhere. When we might see them is the question. Also, now that retro is 'cool', I'm guessing they'd go for a bit more.

Morg, I would imagine we'll see more show up , sooner or later , I quit getting them because my cost was going to be $40 more a upper from my other source and I was finding that hard to swallow and figured others would too. |

The good'ole days may have been last year, but I'm pretty impressed with the number of uppers, upper assemblies and other assorted retro parts that are popping up right now on the EE and other boards.
The only trouble is it is a snooze you loose cituation. |

Hate to tell you guys this but I built my 601 clone back in 2000. I bought 4 edgewater buffers off the EE for chump change 'cause no one wanted old junk. Bought triangle charging handles from someone on ebay for $70 each...... At the time John Feamster was the only other retro guy I knew.
