After months of researching and searching ended up with DDM4V7P Mil-Spec. Pics to come when it arrives. Ordered an EoTech EXPS30 to put on it.

Anyone know where to buy 5.56 rounds at a decent price?

Just buy the ammo from the local gunshop you bought the AR pistol from.
He couldn't sell you ammo for a gun purchase?

Good first choice you made.

Glad you found one.

Congrats on the new pistol! I would look locally for some ammo. Find a LGS that hasn't completely lost their mind if possible. Get enough to sight in your pistol and some to keep for SD/HD. Now is not the time to be buying 1000's of round unless money isn't an issue for you. Buy magazines today. At least 10. More the better. Also get a light and a sling.

ETA: get. 223 if that's all that is available.

Found some 5.56 62grain online for $18.99/20 rounds. Seems high but I guess supply&demand.

What are y’all’s opinion/thoughts of the EoTech EXPS30 choice? I’m concerned it may be too bulky. Nothing has arrived yet so no clue how it’ll se mounted.

Thanks everyone for replies.

I've got a Mk18 pistol with an EXPS2-0 and G33. Great setup for this size package, not too bulky at all.

Firstly, magazines are generally considered to be consumables. I have around 35 and most here would consider that to be warming up a warm up.

Secondly, with the new administration coming in, a magazine capacity limit could be on the horizon. Get em while you can, just in case!

Thanks. Form 1 to SBR will be getting filed soon. Then the SBA4 will give way to a B5 SOPMOD and the Magpul XTM handstop will be swapped out for a TangoDown stubby VFG.

Define "decent".  If you mean ~30CPR decent, you'll need one of these.

Great choice!  What do you think so far?
I just picked up the same pistol, but decided to try a LPVO on it.

If you're in Florida and have an Academy near by, ask when their next ammo shipment is coming in. They still get them in and sell for around $8.99 for 20 round boxes of brass ammo. You shouldn't be paying close to a dollar a round.

Not to hijack, but what kind of magnifier throw mount is that? I have a pretty similar setup and would like the magnifier to throw left (left handed), but can’t get it mounted close to the EXPS because of the lever (see my avatar).

Thanks

ETA: I’m an idiot. You can clearly see LARUE on it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to grab some 20rnd brass 5.56 from BDU for $7.99/box. 5 box limit per day, went back to grab more and they were all gone.

I went SBR from my DDM4V7 and never looked back.

I got a feeling ammo isn't going to be reasonable for a few years. Guys who didn't stock up will start when and if it does come back down and I expect this will prolong the ammo problem.

Normally I'd say grab a case, 10 mags, light, and sling but that would cost more than the entire pistol right now.

I want to grab something new myself either a AK or scar just to change things up but I'm not sure if I'd be able to buy enough ammo to even break a new gun in

@ProtectOR1

We generally like 10 mags per rifle or pistol here.

The lefties keep trying to ban standard capacity mags.
We've seen used aluminum ar-15 mags at $50-87 during political times.

They are here again.  Ina month, you literally may not be able to buy them through the mail.

That's why we buy cheap, stack deep, so you're not paying $1/Rd and stocked up at $.25/ Rd.

Ar mags are about $10-11/mag.

Buy now, they last forever, and become priceless when you need one more.

Love it! Running just MBUS flip and Eotech Exps3. Want to eventually get a G33 or G43 so I don’t have to have my glasses on. The magnifier helps with the astigmatism blur on the eotech.

Looking for a box or two of the Winchester defender 5.56 rounds if anyone has some to sell.

False. Magazine springs are consumables. The bodies themselves will last forever in most cases. I sold a lot of my magazines because I realized I would never use them all. Instead of buying 35 magazines you should have purchased 5 + 1000 rounds of ammo. Magazines are easily available and cheap. Ammo, not so much now.
