Can anyone recommend a nice AR Pistol case, one that isn't big and can hold a couple of mags as well. I really like this one but can't find it for sale (in stock).

I use a M60 barrel bag for my 11.5"
External pouches hold 2-3 30 rounders,
weapon light & other odds & ends.

I found it my stash from years ago.
It's not very subdued, but it works
just fine going the matches & range.

Thanks for the info John. I went with this bag I found in a ARFcom post. Seems pretty nice.

Here's mine. No kidding.

Perfectly holds 10.5" with full length carbine tube and 20 round mag inserted,  and a couple  of extra 30 round mags in molle pouch inside to keep from scratching/banging around. Very discreet gray man hide in plain sight.

I have the Noveske Concealed Carry Backpack. It was a little pricey but it looks great and has interior molle attachments to customize pouches.

One nifty thing here in TN, is that I can legally carry that puppy around loaded on my person with Handgun Carry Permit, but can't do same with a rifle. So for that purpose, making it into a SBR would be counterproductive, as loaded long guns are only allowed in vehicles (again, with permit only), but unlike handguns, can't have one in chamber even then.

I believe this is true for NC, as well,
but how can I verify that? ( The CCW
part.)

Thanks!

I use a Wilson  AR pistol bag.

And a Nike AR pistol (and bat) bag.

Added a little egg crate foam to both.

I have used a camp chair bag a few
times.

It works well for a really low
key carry bag.

A full size bag will carry a 20".

Later!

Love my TAC Force T.T.S case.

Is it better to use a bag or a foam case to store/carry? I've heard of the foam cases potential to cause rust for long term storage but what about the bags?

Utg makes a case exactly like this. It's for a gun 25" or smaller and cost around 35 bucks.

Silicone sock tube for long term storage after a good dose of some moisture displacing protector of your choice.  I have used CRC pure silicon spray for years and it works even on the coast.  It drys, displaces moisture and does not attract dirt or dust.  Strike Hold works well also.  Keep finger prints off of it.

Looks similar to the Head tennis bag I use.  A little foam cut to size in the main pouch to sandwich the pistol, and a 3 mag pouch in the pocket on the side.  Have enough room to put a 20 rounder in the mag well while in the case if wanted.  Could probably get a couple more 30's in the side pocket without too much trouble.

I have a small gym bag that works pretty well.

Broken down it fits into my ALICE pack as well. I've used that to transport it on my motorcycle.

I use Bulldog 25" cases for my SAM7K AK pistol and my Sig P556 SWAT. Nice fit with the mag inserted. Holds an extra mag inside the case and 3 more full mags on the outside.

Inexpensive too.

I really like all the ideas for discreet transport.  I was thinking a mini guitar gig bag but seeing the tennis racket bags is making me change my mind!

+1 for the TAC Force TTS case, it's what I'm using for my 10.5". Not quite as discrete as a tennis bag, but it works well. Mine came with a 3 mag holder for the smaller front pocket as well, wasn't expecting that!

Nice pack and the strap will hold a full size pistol. Just fits my pistol with a 7.5" barrel and pistol buffer.

I also use the Tac Force T.T.S 26" for my 7.5" SBR .  The T.T.S 30" case would fit the 10.5" barreled pistols/SBR  nicely aswell.

I actually use the 26" TAC Force for my 10.5" (overall length 26.5") its a snug fit but still easily closes...

I bought this Boyt 26 inch recently. Ad says padlock compatible but mine isn't (may contact re: exchange if I got old stock). Other than that, a great bag, but I also picked up this Condor Transporter at LA Police Gear to have a more discreet option (will also carry a 16 inch carbine split in two with protective divider). It's a bit narrower than it appears to me in the ads, has sort of the look of a board bag I guess.

Here's mine:

Egg crate foam sounds good, I have a 1/2" dowel rod running the length of the bag's interior and my pistol travels broken down and each half in a Gun Sock.  Once I get the shorter barrel, it should travel in one piece.

I keep two 30-round mags in the pocket and my ATF tech letter (copy, original is in my fire safe).

http://www.rhynotek.com/Rhyno-TacShooter-trade-29-Rifle-Bag-p/822030.htm

Rhyno TacShooter™ 29" x 13" x 2.5" Rifle Bag (Scope Ready)
Really solid case for a pistol of less than 24in so that depends on actual length of your weapon, they do have other lengths available.
Don't let the sub $20 price fool you, this is top knotch kit.

you will not be dissapointed, unless they are out of stock, which they are not.

just buy it.

Checked out that case and figured at that price it was worth picking up, but it breaks one of my cardinal rules: shipping cannot cost more than the item I'm purchasing...
