I ordered a stripped AR receiver in EE from a reputable dealer.  I didn't specify that it was for a pistol build.  When my FFL receives it in a couple of days, is it possible that they will log it in as a 'rifle'?  The FFL doesn't recall ordering a stripped AR receiver for anyone but stated that if the paperwork it came with stated that it was 'a stripped rifle receiver' that is how they would log it in.  

Are you supposed to specify that it is for a pistol build when you order the receiver, or is the paperwork just marked 'receiver' and the FFL actually has the choice to transfer it as a pistol or rifle?

Have your FFL transfer it to you as a pistol.

As long as the receiver has NEVER been transferred or Assembled as a RIFLE ,
your FFL can log it in any way he wants -

YOU need him to log it in as a Pistol receiver.

He can then transfer it on the Yellow Form to you as a PISTOL .

If He BALKS at doing this , MAKE him call the ATF !
Maybe he will learn something
