Looking at buying a brake for my 6.8 so my 6yo can shoot it without catching to much recoil. I tried screwing on a brake that I had for my M&P 5.56. The threads didn't match up.
So if it's not a standard/mil spec thread pattern for 5.56 what would it be?
Because it's a 6.8 would it have a different thread pattern?

Barrel is a wilson.

Wilson generally used 5/8"-24 threads for their 6.8SPC barrels, as he said. You'll need a .30 caliber muzzle device.

Isn't that what a standard AR pattern is? It's definitely not the same.

Or is 1/2" x 24 standard for a 5.56 barrel?

I got to many guns to keep with. Maybe I'm confusing myself...

5.56/.223 is 1/2x28

Thanks... I'm thinking about my .308 and just confused myself. I think I'm good now!

Any suggestion on muzzle brakes that are south of $100? Been eyeballing the pri brakes.

That is what saves you from trying to put a 30 cal bullet through a smaller break. I have never tried it but I assume it's like blowing a can off the end of your gun.
