Quoted: twl, Are there any other improvements made to the bolt except firing pin? I have a DPMS in 7.62X39 and heard a lot about weak bolts prone to breaking. It hasn't failed on me yet but it is like waiting for an accident to happen. Also DPMS extractor slipped on some rims on extraction and after examination the extractor is not grabbing the rim of the case on full circumference, only grabbing at outer edges and leaves marks clearly showing it. I put o-ring in the extractor to increase grabbing tension and it seems work better on extraction but leaves deep marks on the rim upon closing on a cartridge. What extractor are you using on on your bolts? Are they specifically made for 7.62X39 case? My DPMS extractor seems to be an extractor from different caliber bolt. Lastly, do you have any thoughts offering chrome-lined barrels in this caliber /at least as a limited run/? I am shooting russian surplus ammo exclusively /same as wolf/ and cleaning after shooting is no fun at all. And I can see that these ammo can play real hard on non-chromed bore.

Davaa,
This kit uses a normal grade bolt that is not going to be demonstrably stronger or less prone to breakage than your DPMS bolt.
With normal grade bolts in this size boltface, some last long and some don't, and there can be a variety of reasons, depending on how the gun is tuned, and the ammo pressures.
We really didn't do anything different on these bolts, other than to make the firing pin hole the correct size for this new pin. It's primarily a firing pin upgrade that required the modified bolt hole for it to fit.
Ragarding the extractor, I will have to check with Mack on that one. I'd expect it to be the proper extractor for the boltface size.
Adding extractor tension will cause marking of the case rim as the extractor rides over the rim when chambering. If you are not reloading the cases, then I'd see no real problem with a mark on the rim in these disposable steel cases.
However, I do think that the extractor claw should get a good full grip on the case rim, and that could be an issue. As for right now, if your extractor is working, it's probably ok. I'd look around for a better one to keep as a spare. We don't stock the small parts of this nature, and leave the spares purchasing to the end user.
We have plans for a hi-strength bolt in the future, which is a "spin-off" of the technology we developed for our future .308 kit, and we plan to make the hi-strength bolt in 7.62x39 bolt face as well. But that is still a ways off yet. The price for that hi-strength bolt will be very much higher than normal.
We don't actually manufacture any barrels at this time, and we buy them from normal vendor channels. Nobody currently offers a chrome-lined 7.62x39 barrel, and I don't think anybody has ever offered one. I like the idea, and perhaps we could contract a special run of barrels in this caliber with chrome lining. I can't promise anything, but I'll bring up the subject again to management, and see what they say. I think it's a good idea. The barrels that we currently have in stock are DPMS barrels.
