DPMS lowers used to be GTG. in spec, low shelf lowers that never had alignment issues.
I used to have several of them and was pleased with the build. Has Freedom Group QC ruined them? |

Very niche, but UCWRG puts out some wicked nice stuff. I have KAC and Colt mostly, but UCWRG has the best finish, machine quality, and fitment of them all.
Disclaimer: I have a sample size of three lowers and uppers with LPK, so not that large. Just my experience. |

interesting to see Nokeske on the highest tier list. i was under the impression from reddit they really didn't offer much ever since Noveske himself passed. maybe i have to pick up a noveske rifle and see for myself

Quoted: The Unicorn is just hilarious and easily recognized as a joke. Like pink Magpul furniture. But WTF are the other 2? View Quote Agreed... I regret not getting one of those color filled "Snowflake Lowers" from Spikes "as I think that is what they are called" when they were available. I'd rock the shit out of that lower anytime because the hilarity and meaning of it is a classic as Original Coca-Cola! Other 2 are Uber Retarded... |

Quoted: I tend to agree. Thankfully I got a MEGA "GTR-3H" ambi lower and matching upper 5-6 years ago when they were available. Wife bought them for my birthday present. Paired them up with a Noveske CHF barrel, quality internals and a Centurion FF rail that is my favorite AR. https://i.imgur.com/wyuq7kHl.jpg View Quote Jealous. I picked up a Mega forged lower when they were around. Thought the concept of the anti-slop screw was cool. Now I don't know what upper to match it with, because it's finish is different from other uppers I have (seems shinier and smoother than say, spikes) |

For fun:
I think we need to rethink calling them Gucci and maybe go with Louis Vuitton or Channel....according to Ms 77, these are much more desirable brands... So here is how I see the the new Tier system names Teir 1: Channel Tier 2: Louis Vuitton Tier 3: Gucci Tier 4: Ralph Lauren Tier 5: Gap |

How is a Daniel Defense lower any different than any other standard forged lower? Same for KAC forged non-ambi.

My MEGA upper/lower are about on par with my other complete Spikes in color-anodizing... Spikes 14.5" on top Mega/Noveske 10.5" on bottom. |

Which brands actually manufacture their own lowers and lower parts instead of roll marking a part some other company made?

Quoted: Which brands actually manufacture their own lowers and lower parts instead of roll marking a part some other company made? View Quote Many companies use or have used LW Schneider lowers. Aero has also made lowers for other companies, and even some of PSA's sister companies are rumored to have made lowers for others. In a way, its similar to uppers. Several forges make all the raw blanks, and then several companies machine them down. The atf approves the variances between each lower (roll mark, serial range, model, etc). |

Hmm, no one mentioned Ascend Armory. beautiful billet set and and about as Gucci as you can get with an AR. Radian/AXTS remains my favorite AR of all though and I guess also falls in the Gucci category. In the end, whether Gucci or not, as long as they're in spec and things fit right and function right then what difference does it make? Enjoy your builds whether Gucci or lowly brands!

No particular order. I say top 5:
LMT MARS KAC Ambi LWRC Ambi Radian Ambi Colt M4 marked for cloners. |

I’m perfectly content with the M4E1 from Aero on my last build.

If you're new, then it's all moot anyways. Build up something cheap to start with and then go for Gucci. So many newbs piling into the marquis brands that don't know crap - except for the fact they want to flex on the gram. In which case they look mostly like tools when they're strutting around with a 75% complete rifle and bugger up their KAC parts because they installed a URX wrong.
