Good question. Seems like the majority of SS Barrels are always 1x8 twist.

"Budget" and "SS" are not usually found in the same sentence. " Affordable" sometimes.

So far it seems that "ss" and budget aren't common knowledge. So any info. Would be great!

I just bought a 1:9 SS carbine length from Surplus Ammo for less than $140. Not your twist but a nice deal.

WOA has a SS 16", 1:7, but it is $273.

Have you checked out Black Hole Weaponry barrels?  1/8 twist, not your requested 1/7 but they are pretty dang accurate.

Surplus Ammo Blackhole Weaponry

$229 plus shipping but you also get a free stripped upper.  So sell the upper, or count it towards your build and that's under 200.

The price isn`t as important as the twist since NRA competition requires minimal 1:7 twist. But the WOA seems to be a good deal any others would be great. Thanks for all the info. So far.

Not sure if that package deal is still available.

SRS requires a 20" barrel. There is no rule for twist. The gun must look like an A2 fixed handle or A4 with carry handle, A2 sights, standard rifle hand guards, A2 grip, standared trigger guard, A2 flash hider and A2 stock.

consider first that over the life of the barrel you are going to spend AT LEAST ten times the money on ammo compared to what you spent on the barrel in the first place.   saving $100 on the barrel equates to about 50 rounds of SMK's or similar accurate ammo.  accordingly, "wasting" $100 of match ammo because you bought the least expensive barrel possible does not make sense –– unless your goal is to simply have a run-of-the-mill stainless barrel versus having a stainless barrel with accuracy/precision worthy of decent ammo.

high quality Noveske stainless barrels cost about the same as a case of M855.
