Thanks, does the stock screw directly into the receiver? No it doesn't. The reciever extension (buffer tube) screws into the reciever, the Ace stock slides over the extension tube and is secured with a screw at the butt that threads into the end of the extension tube. It locks up tight. |

I put them on all my rifles. Easy to install, solid, comfortable and you have a choice of two different length recoil pads. The longer pad is soft enough to absorb some recoil from 308's.

I bought mine used off the EE and couldn't possibly be happier. They are amazingly solid.
The foam sleeve is a huge pain to install though  One really nice thing about them that i didn't realize when buying is there are threaded holes all over the damn thing to mount sling swivels on. top, bottom, left, right, front, rear. wherever you desire.  |

Thanks for the replies guys. The comparison pics are awesome. That entry stock looks really nice. Any hesitation if I used that and the DPMS Extension for a fixed stock for a coyote rifle. I'm 6'1''?

If you install one use a little soapy water inside the foam sleeve to get it to slide over the tube. It soon dries. Don't use oil.

I have 3 ARFX-E stocks on CAR length rifles and 1 ARFX stock on my 24" AR.........love them all. I did swap out the 1/2" buttpads on all of the rifles for 1" buttpads since it seemed about the perfect length for me for each application. With the foam pad on the buffer tube and Spikes ST-T2 buffers on the carbines I dont notice the "sproing" sound as much as I used to either. Couldnt be happier with mine. |

I used oil and it worked just fine––-also came off easily when I wanted to change things around––-a new foam tube is only a few bucks if the oil messed it up––but it didn't.
I used the Hoppes clear oil that comes in their cleaning kits that I never use. Slid back both ends and wiped off any excess––-like I said––-works just fine. |

Here's mine, it is the shorter size. I like it but may swap it out for a UBR or ACS. No sure......not something I have to do.

I recently picked up an Ace M4Socom stock for a HD/SHTF build, and I got a question for you guys. I got a little bit of slop between the stock and the lower. It's not real bad, but I know it's the sort of thing that will grow to bug me as time goes on. It seems the source of the problem is that you use the little clamp to hold the built in buffer tube from tightening/loosening. But it allows the stock to wiggle up and down just a hair. I tried shimming it with just a little bit of electrical tape between the clamp and the lower, but no luck. So help please

I didn't even notice on mine until you posted.
Thanks. It's barely noticeable with the upper installed. Try getting it as tight as possible and call it done. |

The only other thing I can suggest is using an M4 stock nut. I bet that would get it nice and tight.

Yep. The castle nut.
It would pull the stock tube tight against the receiver threads. The only issue might be preventing the tube from rotating. Come to think of it, I'm not sure the Ace tube has enough threads to work with a castle nut. Scratch that. |
