This winter's project is a scoped (Leupold Mk4) FF upper with a good quality barrel - looking for reference on nominal barrel weight to get an idea of the weigth of the SBR vs a HBAR or even a "bull" barrel (possible in 16").

The current scoped upper (a Colt A2 plus PRI Gen III and Leupold 4.5 to 14 mill dot) has work well with ball ammo at our local shoots (100 to 300 yards for rifles through belt guns)   and would like something setup up for 75 gr ammo and a little more accurate.

As always, appreicate any comments on barrels and accuracy.

Thanks Wes appreicate the info - as always.

Had not given enough though to the total system, now you have me thinking of what need to consider with the mags.

Are "SPR" profile barrels available in midlength gas systems? That's what I want.
