strange thing is that there is no "C MP" type of  markings on the barrel itself.

Maybe that means the twist rate is 1/9?

Both my BM, and RRA sling loops are riveted like that.

looks like it might be a Colt according to that:
19 might be a "lot number"

EVERYONE else rivets the sling these days  However, not everyone else puts the head of the rivet on the right side of the lug. For example, all the recent years Bushies I've seen have the head on the left, and the staking on the right side.

The lack of a bayo lug seems to indicate a barrel of the ban era, and it would not surprise me if this was an unlined Colt ban compliant piece that simply didn't get marked.  Wouldn't be the first Colt I've seen with non standard "something or others" on it

Are there any markings on the front sight base?

Considering it doesnt have any other markings on it I wouldnt say its a Colt.  One stamped number is not good enough to say its any maker.  If the stamped number is exactly like the ones on Colts then I would say the barrel is an ER Shaw (who makes Colts barrels) bought from someplace like Model One Sales or some such no name place.
