I read the ammo oracle, and they didnt really have much too say about the differences in these two. I want the tighter twist for the 77 grain, but wont be shooting that exclusivley. Really dont see myself shooting anything heavier. So what are the advantages these two twist rates have over each other?

Either one is fine for what you want to do...  I have a 1:8 and it does fine from 55gr and up (to 77gr).

My Noveske 1/7 polygonal does not shoot 55gr  as well as my other barrels, including 1/9 Colt HBAR.

I can expect 3rd groups at 100yds, all touching edges w/ 75/77gr; 55gr M193 goes out to 1 1/2 in.  Colt 1/9 will do nearly 1 inch with m193, maybe a quarter inch  better than the Noveske.

How much of that is spin rate?  Don't know.  If you really want to shoot alot of 55gr, I'd go with 1/8 in your situation.
