What uppers will fit my Colt lower?

Ok here's my deal. I have a Colt A2 AR15 Sporter. Vintage 98-99. It has the funky two piece front take down pin. The one with a screw threaded into it. I'd like to configure it similar to my BM Dissipator flat top AR. Am I screwed as far as getting a different upper assembly for this gun?

I'd post this on the Colt Board.

As far as I know you should not have any real trouble with the swap.

If it's a big hole lower, you can put anything you want on it, as long as you have the correct large pin-to-small pin adapter.

Hey thanks for the assist. I tried a search with no luck. I'll get the calipers out and measure it tonight.

By '98 or so, almost all the large hole lowers were used up, so most likely it is a standard 0.25" pin. The lower mayor may not be drilled for the pushpin detent. If it is, you can convert to that for about $5. Otherwise, the two pice 0.25" pin will work with any standard "small hole" upper.
