Looking for an inexpensive set of Handguards for a Mid-Length barrel, how do the RRA handguards compare to the ones from CavArms? Any comments, likes or dislikes with either brand?

Thanks!
Dave

the RRA are really, really poor quality.  the CavArms are really heavy-duty.
i replaced my RRA MLs the day i got the upper....
i'm serious!

Thanks! I had a gut feeling that might be the case...

I had a set of RRA handguards.  They were definitely a lot lighter and thinner than Cav Arms or Colt handguards.

In fact, I had green RRA furniture on my A2 (I really liked the color), but switched to black because when I got my Colt A2 upper from CDNN, the handguards were just so much nicer.

I wouldn't say the RRA handguards are likely to break or anything, mind you, they're still good furniture, and they're nice and light.  I've seen handguards on issue M16A2's break on logs and stuff, but the RRA ones probably flex too much to actually break them on anything.

I don't know about the RRA, but I got a set of the CavArms with my Sabre middy and they are kick ass. The best fitting, tightest set I've seen. Rock Solid.
